“Genre’s are a thing of the past, true expression is boundless … I’m in search of the perfect beat.”
~ DJ Phresh
Hailing from the birthplace of turntablism and hip-hop, DJ Phresh implements the strength of his aggressive New York style and applies it to all genres of music. Being involved in hip-hop culture at a young age sparked his interest in a wide variety of other global themes.
His versatility with world music through the open format embracing of all genres is what truly sets him apart within the industry.
PHRESH also attributes his open-minded musical influences to growing up in New York City and his multicultural and social childhood. What initially started out as a release and escape from the day-to-day rigors of city life turned into a love affair that has allowed him to perform all over the world.
PHRESH’s cultured ear for music paved the path to his international success as a DJ. He’s held residencies at renowned venues in New York, Miami, the Hamptons, and Las Vegas. While earning a reputation as one of New York City and America’s most sought-after DJ talents, PHRESH continues to expand his love of music while spinning all over the world, giving club and partygoers the perfect music experience.
Though he’s held residencies at virtually all of the city’s most exclusive clubs, DJ Phresh has — purely and simply — made a name for himself behind the decks. Niteside sat down with the electro-happy record spinner to talk summer jamz, making bodies move and mistakenly harassing Leonardo DiCaprio.
DJ Phresh and Terror Dactel teamed up to give you a free download of a new remix they did for the Capital Cities track “Farrah Fawcett Hair.” This rendition of the track transforms it into a funky, high energy, electro house tune kicking up the bass from the original. DJ Phresh, who has released music on the 4AM record label, and Terror Dactel, who has released music on the Dim Mak and Deathset record labels, are excited to bring you this free download so go grab this one and enjoy.
Making his first appearance today on PTB, I would like to introduce you to NYC native DJ Phresh. Growing up in the Bronx exposed DJ Phresh to various genres of music, this definitely has had a big impact on his style and really sets him apart from other DJ’s. Yesterday Phresh showed fans what he is capable of with the release of his new studio track “Gone In A Day” featuring the vocals of Chris Severe. If you liked this track make sure to follow Phresh on Facebook for updates on new releases and to find out where he will be spinning next!
Acoustics are becoming a large part of dance music and we can’t help but marvel over their different means of placement. From the acoustic house model that Kygo and Thomas Jack are creating to Avicii’s awkward integration with his new album, the bear frenzy is becoming more and more popular. The latest to take on the style is 4AM’s DJ Phresh, who with the help of Chris Severe, incorporated it beautifully into Gone In A Day. Pick it up now for free download.
“Phresh are the guys tucked behind the DJ booths of the city’s most happening venues, practicing a craft that has boosted them into celebrity status among music, fashion, and art industry insiders.”
