Mandela Gregoire is a New York City based filmmaker and photographer. He studied filmmaking at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. After school, he landed an internship at 40 Acres and a Mule FilmWorks working directly with Director/Producer John Singleton shooting behind the scenes for the Universal Pictures film “Illegal Tender” in Puerto Rico in 2006.

Mandela took a break from his cinematic ambitions to pursue his interest in his other passion, international affairs. He worked as an attaché at the Permanent Mission of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the United Nations during the 63rd and 64th UN General Assemblies. With a background in both media and global issues, Mandela has worked with a number of non-profit organizations producing videos, most notably the Aspen Institute’s Cultural Diplomacy Forum.

In 2010, Carline Balan, Jay-Z’s former assistant, connected Mandela with singer Rihanna’s management and he began producing behind-the-scenes videos and photos for the singer’s YouTube Account, DVDs, and tour merchandise. Currently, Mandela freelances and works on various video and photography projects around the globe. He has visited over sixty countries on six continents and is passionate about cinema, international affairs, and the creative economy.
